Chinese demand for stainless steel in the downstream stainless steel household electric appliance market weakened in July 2018, which met the previous estimate, but the decline exceeded expectations due to the large-scale rainfall in China.
According to the recent production and sales statistics of household air conditioners, liquid crystal display TV (LCD TV), refrigerators and washing machines, the production and sales volume kept growing in July, but the growth rate plummeted compared to the same month a year ago.
Among them, the production totaled around 36.9 million units, a month-on-month decrease of 6.39% and a year-on-year increase of 4.86%; the sales volume totaled around 36.5 million units, a month-on-month decrease of 7.34% and a year-on-year increase of 2.76%.
