It was reported that Brazil recently requested the European Union (EU) to exempt stainless steel and seamless pipes from EU’s new quota restrictions. However, it was heard that Brazil has continued to negotiate with the EU for exemptions for some steel products, but so far it was still unable to confirm the exact steel product category.
Brazil''s Usiminas exported its flat products to South America which have been usually exported to the Europe.
According to Usiminas’ export data of flat products for the second quarter of 2018, Germany accounted for 25% of the company''s exports; Spain accounted for 11%; Belgium accounted for 10%.
In the third quarter of the company''s exports, Argentina accounted for 63%; Colombia accounted for 18%; Canada accounted for 16%.
