WTO: US’s CVD duty on Turkish specific steel pipe fails to comply with rules- The 20th China (Guangzhou ) Int’l tube & pipe Processing Equipment Exhibition

The Dispute Settlement Body (DSB) of the World Trade Organization (WTO) found that the US failed to comply with certain WTO’s rules on countervailing duties against certain steel pipe imports from Turkey and didn’t provide a reasonable and sufficient explanation for its decision on Turkish steel producers Erdemir and İsdemir.
The dispute related to certain steel pipe imports from Turkey such as oil country tubular goods (OCTG), welded line pipe (WLP) and heavy walled rectangular welded carbon steel pipes and tubes (HWRP), as well as the sunset review in 2011 and the administrative review of countervailing duty order on circular welded carbon quality steel pipe (CWP) from Turkey in 2013.
The WTO suggested the US to make its measures to comply with the rules of subsidies and countervailing duties.
