Iran Daily reported that Mr Hassan Khalaj Tehrani MD of Persian Gulf Mining and Metal Industries Special Economic Zone said that 1.4 million tonnes of slab were produced in the zone during the year.
The official also added that Hormozal and Almahdi Aluminum Company produced over 130,000 tonnes of aluminum ingots during the 12 months, while 9,170 tonnes of zing ingot were produced in the province.
According to the Islamic Republic''s Vision Plan, the country''s total steel production capacity is to hit 55 million tonnes a year by 2025, with exports expected to reach 10-15 million tonnes.
