According to Japan Iron and Steel Federation (JISF), from the new fiscal year starting in April 2020, the annual crude steel production in Japan might be the same as the 2018-2019 fiscal year, and the crude steel production was expected to be down this fiscal year.
Steel demand for domestic construction and manufacturing was likely to fall next year, but export demand was expected to pick up, according to the JISF.
