India levies AD duty against alloy bars & rods from China for 5 years-The 20th China (Guangzhou) Int’l Spring Industry Exhibition

It was reported that Indian Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) decided to impose an anti-dumping duty for 5 years ranging from US$44.89-185.51/ton against alloy bars and rods under HS code 7228 from China, in order to safeguard domestic producers of same products from cheap imports from China.
This anti-dumping investigation was applied by domestic steelmakers JSW Steel Ltd., Sunflag Iron & Steel Company, Usha Martin, Gerdau Steel India Limited, Vardhman Special Steels and Jayaswal Neco Industries Limited.
DGTR found in its investigation that the dumped imports from China have increased in absolute terms during 2016-2017.
