According to the data released by the Pakistan Federal Bureau of Statistics (PFBS), Pakistan imported around 340,300 tons of scrap in January this year, sliding by 19.7% compared to the previous month and also dropping by 22% from the same month a year ago.
During the period, the import value totaled roughly US$211 million, a month-on-month decrease of 16% and a year-on-year increase of 31%.
