Indonesian Minister of Trade Enggartiasto Lukita said that the US government decided to open a gate for Indonesian steel product, including carbon steel, alloy steel and stainless steel, which were all free from 25% import duty.
During the period from July 23rd-27th, Indonesia sent the representative to visit the White House, and the US government made the decision on August 2nd.
The mission was to explain to US government that Indonesia still had the right for the benefits of the Generalized System of Preferences (GSP).
