China Steel Corporation (CSC) reported that its shipment, including steel billets, reached 911,000 tons in February, nearly 10,000 tons higher than its target volume.
Among the shipment, 545,000 tons were for domestic sales and 366,000 tons were exporting sales.
CSC said that the export volume was not as good as the expectation due to fewer working days in February for the Lunar New Year holiday. However, the domestic sales volume was up by around 30,000 tons compared to the target.
The increase in the domestic sales was due to optimistic prospects by downstream steel mills, which replenished for inventories in advance, said CSC.
