據官方介紹，HIPEX1850 是目前國內最大、世界第二大尺寸的熱等靜壓裝備，可應用于我國航空航天等領域大型核心零部件的加工處理。
官方指出：該裝備的發布，標志著我國熱等靜壓裝備研制技術在設備尺寸、加工參數、模塊化設計、智能化控制、設備穩定性等方面取得重大進展。
中國鋼研所屬鋼研昊普科技有限公司董事長呂周晉介紹稱，該公司經過熱等靜壓工藝處理的材料組織均勻，致密度極高，材料內部的微孔、裂紋、偏析等缺陷可被完全消除。與此同時，材料的耐磨性、耐腐蝕性以及綜合機械性能可獲得極大提升，材料疲勞壽命可提高 10-100 倍。
他表示，熱等靜壓技術是航空航天、電力能源、燃氣輪機、消費電子、醫療、半導體等高端制造領域關鍵零部件生產的必要一環，是推動我國戰略性新材料及核心零部件自主研發的關鍵工藝技術。
